Susan Weinblatt (Melanie Mayron), a young Jewish woman, is trying to launch her career as a photographer in 1970s New York. She shares a small apartment with her closest friend Anne Munroe (Anita Skinner), an aspiring writer. While Susan earns her living photographing Bar Mitzvahs, she dreams of holding her own exhibition in a gallery. But when Anne suddenly leaves to move in with her new husband, Susan is faced with unexpected challenges and a changing friendship.
