March 1 - Oy Vey Film Shorts Program

Kriterion, Amsterdam
Roeterstraat 17001/03 14:20In a journey that shifts boundaries and questions what keeps us here and how we take root, we look around us to see how others give shape to these ideas. Short films often offer unique perspectives, guided by experimental forms of visual language, editing, or narrative structure. Their compact format allows ideas to come through sharply and directly, inviting viewers to look differently and reflect on what it means to feel at home.
The films co-curated by Julie Weitz for Oy Vey’s short film program draw on the medicinal power of memory and the radical creative force of the Jewish diasporic imagination. Together, they celebrate polyphonic belonging while resisting fascism and narrow definitions of Jewishness.
Join us for screenings followed by a conversation on how shared traditions across Jewish diasporas and collective solidarity sustain us beyond borders and across time.
