Dus, je bent Joods, hoe denk je over Israël/Palestina?
Voor veel Joden in Nederland wordt Joods zijn gereduceerd tot Israël/Palestina of de Holocaust. Tijdens onze volgende gezamenlijke discussie voor het Joods Manifest bespreken we wat dit voor ons betekent. En hoe wij onszelf zien als verbonden — of juist niet — met Israël.
Met het Joods Manifest willen we een stem geven aan de geleefde ervaringen van Joden in Nederland. Wat hebben Nederlandse Joden nodig om zich veilig en vrij te voelen in de Nederlandse samenleving? Hoe bestrijden we effectief antisemitisme? En wat is er nodig om Joodse cultuur en Joods leven een volwaardige plek te geven in de Nederlandse maatschappij? Met het manifest doen we een poging om een antwoord te geven op al deze vragen en meer. We stellen ons tot doel kennis over Joden te vergroten en gaan in tegen tendensen om Joodse geschiedenis in Nederland te reduceren tot religie, de Holocaust en de staat Israël. Want onze geschiedenis in dit land is lang en rijk en onze levens bestaan uit zoveel meer dan trauma, oorlog en pijn. Doe je mee?

For many Jews in the Netherlands, being Jewish is reduced to Israel/Palestine or the Holocaust. During our next discussion together for the Jewish Manifesto, we will discuss what this means for us. And how we see ourselves as connected — or not — to Israel.
The Jewish Manifesto project gives a voice to the lived experiences of Jews in the Netherlands. What do Dutch Jews need to feel safe and free in Dutch society? How do we effectively combat anti-Semitism? And what is needed to give Jewish culture and Jewish life a place in Dutch society? The manifesto is an attempt to answer all these questions and more. We aim to increase knowledge about Jews and to counter the tendency to reduce Jewish history in the Netherlands to religion, the Holocaust, and the state of Israel. Our history in this country is long and rich and our lives consist of so much more than trauma, war and pain. Will you join us?
